Explore the iconic Lofoten Islands & North Cape on this escorted group tour. See some of Norway's most spectacular scenery where sheer, jagged mountain peaks collide with the sea at their feet, forming towering settings for the picturesque fishing villages that the region is know for. This tour allows you to explore the nation's vibrant capital and the world famous Lofoten archipelago, before continuing north to the polar city of Tromsø and beyond to the North Cape where you can stand at the top of the continent while marvelling at the midnight sun.

DAY 1
FLY TO OSLO
Akershus Fortress Oslo

Welcome to The Kingdom of Norway – a country with the most beautiful fjords on Earth. Upon arrival, transfer to the city centre and check into your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to do some sightseeing of Oslo on your own. We recommend taking a walk through Vigeland Park to see the famous sculptures or a visit to the Viking Ship Museum. The Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress are also worth checking out. Overnight in the Scandic St. Olavs Plass or similar.

DAY 2
OSLO TO THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS
Svolvaer Harbour

After breakfast meet your tour leader and the rest of your group and transfer to the airport for the flight to Evenes and transfer to Svolvær, located on the Lofoten Islands. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the Scandic Svolvær Hotel or similar. (B)

DAY 3
PANORAMIC TOUR OF LOFOTEN ISLANDS

Discover Norway’s untamed islands which are draped across the turbulent waters of the Norwegian Sea, 300 km above the Arctic Circle. The islands are famous for the fishing, nature attractions such as midnight sun and northern lights, small villages off the beaten track and incredible landscapes. Dinner in the hotel Overnight in the Scandic Harstad or similar. (B,D)

DAY 4
HARSTAD TO TROMSØ
Tromso Cathedral

After breakfast drive the incredibly scenic road to Tromsø - the Gateway to the Arcitc. The remainder of the day is at leisur to explore the unique polar atmosphere of this city. Overnight at the Quality Saga hotel or similar .(B)

DAY 5
TROMSØ TO THE NORTH CAPE
Midnight Sun at the North Cape

Continue the journey to the northernmost point of Europe, the North Cape. The journey is long but beautiful, incorporating ferry crossings with spectacular fjord views, through the heart of the arctic region of Finnmark, ending with the reward of the North Cape. Arrive into into Honningsvåg in the late afternoon. After dinner, enjoy an evening excursion to the North Cape promontory. The summer sun doesn’t set between the middle of May and the end of July and watching the midnight sun or the sunset over the Barents Sea from the North Cape Plateau is a highlight of any summer trip this far north. Overnight in the Scandic Nordkapp or similar. (B,D)

DAY 6
HONNINGSVÅG TO OSLO
Reindeer along the road to Alta

Departure towards Alta, the largest town in Norway’s northernmost county. Alta is in the process of being certified as a sustainable destination as the town wishes to preserve the local nature, culture and environment. From May to August, thanks to the midnight sun, there are about 24 hours of sunlight. Fly from Alta to Oslo and overnight at the Clarion Oslo Airport Hotel or similar. (B)

DAY 7
FLY TO THE UK

It is time to say good bye to Norway. If time allows, visit the city of Oslo again for some last minute shopping, or enjoy a walk through this vibrant city. When you are ready, please make your own way to the airport for your flight home. (B)
