Arrive in Tallinn. Transfer to the hotel and check in for four nights.

Today set out to explore Tallinn. Tallinn's Old Town is divided into two distinct parts: Toompea Hill, where the seat of the Estonian government can be found at Toompea Castle, as well as the 19th-century symbol of the Tsar's power in Estonia, the grandiose Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Lower Town is where you will find the medieval part of Tallinn, cobbled lanes and alleys, and an impressive market square.
Make sure to visit Kohtuotsa and Patkuli viewing platforms for sweeping vistas of Tallinn’s red-tiled roofs, towers and walls set against the backdrop of the Baltic Sea. (B)

Perhaps book an optional excursion today and venture out of Tallinn to Lahemaa National Park. Lahemaa means ‘the land of bays’ and this beautiful coastal landscape covers a large area of protected primeval forest, small rivers and a number of hiking trails. Or strap on your walking boots and head out on a guided bog walk! The Estonians love their bogs – walk on wooden walkways around ponds, climb a watchtower whilst listening to stories from excellent local guides. (B)

Free day in Tallinn to explore at leisure. Perhaps take a short tram ride to the district of Kalamaja. This former medieval fishing village is now a hip, modern quarter, home to some of Tallinn’s innovative museums including the Energy Discovery Centre and the Seaplane Harbour, as well as bohemian restaurants, pubs and bars. Back at the hotel, unwind in the spa with a choice of treatments, take a dip in the indoor pool, and experience traditional sauna rituals — a highlight of the island’s wellness culture. (B)
