Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
FLY TO REYKJAVIK
Reykjavik - Iceland

Fly to Iceland. Transfer by Flybus shuttle bus from the airport to your hotel in Reykjavik for an overnight stay.

DAY 2
GOLDEN CIRCLE
Strokkur geyser - Iceland

Discover the iconic Golden Circle. Start your journey at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can walk between two tectonic plates and learn about Alþingi, Iceland's first parliament. Next, visit Geysir to witness the Strokkur geyser erupt, and stop at Gullfoss, where glacial waters cascade thunderously into a deep canyon. (B,L)

DAY 3
SOLAR ECLIPSE
Solar eclipse

Spend the morning at leisure in Reykjavík. Perhaps, stroll along Laugavegur, the charming main shopping street lined with unique boutiques, cosy cafes, and local art galleries. Later in the day, prepare for the extraordinary Solar Eclipse*. Special Solar Eclipse glasses are provided to ensure safe viewing, and a telescope is set up at a cosy seaside restaurant to offer an enhanced perspective of this rare celestial event. The experience concludes with a delightful 3-course dinner and a glass of champagne. (B,D)

DAY 4
REYKJANES PENINSULA & BLUE LAGOON
Blue lagoon - Iceland

Start the day by discovering the unique attractions of the Reykjanes Peninsula, including the geothermal area at Krýsuvík, the iconic Reykjanesviti lighthouse, and the bubbling mud pools at Gunnuhver. Stop at the 'Bridge Between Continents', where you can stand between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Finish the day at the Blue Lagoon to relax in its mineral-rich waters. (B,L) 

DAY 5
DEILDARTUNGUHVER HOT SPRINGS & VIDGELMIR LAVA CAVE
Hraunfossar waterfall - Iceland

Head west into Iceland’s diverse landscapes, starting with Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. Continue to Hraunfossar, a beautiful series of waterfalls that pour from lava fields into glacier-fed rivers, followed by nearby Barnafoss, the “Children’s Falls”. Explore Víðgelmir, Iceland’s largest lava cave, on a 1.5-hour tour that reveals the volcanic forces shaping Iceland’s landscape. Conclude your day with a visit to Háafell Farm to meet Iceland’s treasured goat breed. Learn more about the farm’s efforts to preserve these friendly, endangered animals, and discover unique products crafted on-site, offering an authentic taste of Icelandic heritage and farming traditions. DAY 6
SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA
Kirkjufell Mountain - Iceland

Today explore Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known for its volcanic craters, glaciers, and rugged coastlines. Discover Snæfellsjökull, the glacier-capped volcano and national park that inspired Jules Verne's 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth'. Continue to Kirkjufell Mountain, one of Iceland’s most photographed sites, and learn more about traditional shark curing and sample this local delicacy at the Shark Museum. (B,L)

DAY 7
GRABROK CRATER & REYKJAVIK
 Reykjavík - Iceland

After a hearty breakfast embark on an easy hike to Grábrók Crater*. Visit The Settlement Center, which offers an interesting interactive exhibition and, in the afternoon, return to  Reykjavík to enjoy a guided city tour. (B,L)

 

 
*Grábrók crater stands approximately 170 metres (558 feet) above the surrounding terrain and can be reached via a footpath. While the trail is fairly steep, steps have been added along part of the route to make the hike more manageable.

DAY 8
FLY TO THE UK
Gullfoss Waterfall - Iceland

Transfer by Flybus shuttle bus to the airport for the flight back to the UK. (B)
