Hiroshima is a place that needs no introduction. On the 6th August 1945 the first atomic bomb was dropped on the Industrial Promotion Hall causing widespread devastation and resulting in thousands of deaths. Out of the ashes of this destruction Hiroshima has emerged as a vibrant, dynamic city with the Peace Park and and Museum firmly centre stage for locals and visitors alike. Elsewhere in the city visitors can jump aboard a tram and explore the Museum of Contemporary Art, Hiroshima castle with its impressive moat and gardens or sample the local delicacy okonomiyaki in a local restaurant.
