Nabatean Treasures of Jordan & Saudi Arabia

12 Day Tour, from £5980 per person

This incredible desert overland journey spans two countries and highlights the breathtaking Nabatean metropolises of Petra in Jordan and Hegra in Saudi Arabia. The journey follows one of the world's oldest and most significant spice and incense trade routes from Arabia to the Mediterranean. These trade routes were controlled by the Nabateans, a highly successful Arab tribe, who constructed cities along the way. Petra was their capital and was in its time a prosperous flourishing city.

Although the main focus of this holiday will be on the archaeological sites of Petra and Hegra, this
extraordinary desert journey will also take you to the religious site of Mt Nebo, the mosaic town of Madaba, the desert castle of Kerak and of course the vast desert landscape of Wadi Rum. At the end of the journey, shake off the desert sand and swap it for a sandy beach and some snorkelling in Aqaba.

It’s a great opportunity to combine two countries and to marvel at the well-preserved architectural highlights the Nabateans have left behind, and to combine this with visits to other hidden gems.
