Transfer to the airport for the short flight to Flores Island. Upon arrival, collect the hire car drive to Aldeia Da Cuada Hotel for a 7-night stay in your very own stone cottage. The remainder of the day is free to explore. (B)
Today, why not walk walk part of Flores' stunning West Coast Walk, easily the grandest walk on the island. The entire trail spans 47 km, but the most impressive part of the walk is the final section between Fajã Grande & Ponta Delgada.This linear walk boasts fantastic panoramic views of the coastal area. Enjoy a day at leisure to take in the tranquillity of where you are staying. Perhaps opt to relax in your private, walled garden, or consider one of the short walks in the area to see a waterfall or wander down to the charming village of Fajãzinha. (B)
Enjoy a full day self-drive tour of Flores. Head south to the Miradouro do Fajãzinha viewpoint for spectacular views before passing the charming houses of Mosteiro. Explore the region near Lajes, where there is a beach that is ideal for a picnic. Pass the island's main city, Santa Cruz before cutting across the middle of the island back towards the hotel. There are plenty of excellent views and places to stop along this road. (B)
Spend the morning exploring Santa Cruz, visiting the museums in the area and exploring the harbour town before embarking on the short Alagoa walk down to the beach. In the afternoon, head north to the Ponta Delgada. This drive affords many spectacular views of Corvo to the East. After exploring Ponta Delgada, return the way you came. We recommned a detour to Farol do Albernaz which leads to a lighthouse from 1911 as well as exploring the narrow streets of Casa do Povo before heading back to your hotel. (B)
