Travel by car on the Golden Circle route, reach secluded highlands by special 4x4 super jeep and stay at the newly opened Highland Base Hotel Kerlingarfjöll - an ideal location for experiencing the mesmerising Northern Lights.
Tour Itinerary
Arrive at Keflavík International Airport, collect your rental car, and drive to Reykjavík. On arrival, check in to the Hotel Borg for one night. Spend the evening at leisure dining in one of the many restaurants in town, or ask our Iceland travel specialists to include a Northern Lights excursion.
In the morning, embark on the Golden Circle route passing by Iceland's three most renowned natural wonders. Begin at the picturesque national park Þingvellir, where Iceland's ancient parliament convened. Perhaps, stop at the geothermal fields of Geysir - where the famous geyser Strokkur regularly erupts, and marvel at the Gullfoss waterfall*. Make your way to Basecamp Skjól, park your car, and transfer by super jeep to the Highland Base Hotel. On arrival, enjoy a welcome drink. (B)
*Please note: depending on winter road conditions and due to the scheduled transfer time from Basecamp Skjól, it may not be possible to stop at each of these locations.
Today relax in the Highland Base Geothermal Baths (opening January 2024) or choose from a selection of optional activities such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing and skiing*. In the evening, join an included stargaze experience with the assistance of a guide - look out for the Northern lights and gaze at the cosmos through the hotel high-powered telescope. (B)

Spend the morning at leisure and, in the early afternoon. transfer back to Basecamp Skjól by super jeep to your rental vehicle. Drive back to Reykjavík and check in to the Hotel Borg for your last night. (B)
Return your rental car to the airport and fly back to the UK. (B)
