Isfahan Holidays

Isfahan has a long history and it was in the 11th century that it first became a capital and saw a flurry of building but it was under Shah Abbas I that it became the greatest city in Iran with the building of Naqsh e Jahan Square and the influx of artists and skilled craftsmen. The tree lined boulevards are still in existence although many of the palaces are gone. There are still enough of the beautiful buildings to appreciate the grandeur. The palaces, mosques and bazaars will be a highlight of any trip to Iran and there are still the bridges and Armenian Quarter to explore.
