Kaesong Holidays

Kaesong is North Korea’s southernmost city and the gateway for visits to the DMZ. Though many visitors on tours of North Korea opt to pass straight through, there is plenty of interest here to fill a day or two of sightseeing.

Once the capital of the ancient Koryo Dynasty, Kaesong offers a historical experience that is difficult to find elsewhere in the country with a well-preserved Old Town brimming with traditional Korean buildings, museums containing Koryo art and relics, plenty of charming temples and some fascinating landmarks including the tomb of the flamboyant King Kongmin. From Kaesong it is also possible to catch a glimpse of the Korea wall which purportedly runs the length of the DMZ, made all the more intriguing due to the fact the US denies its existence!
