Spend an evening feeding reindeer and enjoying a traditional Sami dinner with reindeer herders. The reindeer and Sami have been living and working this land for centuries but have only recently invited guests to take part in their daily life. At the camp, which is located just 30 minutes’ drive from Tromsø, you will find a herd of about 200 reindeer to feed. Be invited for hot drinks around an open fire in the gamme (a traditional Sami hut) which is lit by candlelight. Here you will be served a traditional, 3-course Sami dinner. After dinner, you will be invited into a lavvu (Sami herdsmen's tent) to listen to stories about Sami culture.
*It is also possible to add an optional 25-minute reindeer sled ride to this excursion.
