Sami Reindeer Feeding & Culture

Join Sami guides for an unforgettable reindeer experience. The reindeer and the Sami have been living and working on this land for centuries, but they have only recently invited guests to be part of their daily life. Just a 30-minute drive out of the city, the camp is home to about 200 reindeer who will swarm around you and even eat from your hands. Enjoy a traditional Sami meal cooked over an open fire in a gamme (traditional Sami hut) and listen to Sami stories and sing traditional songs (joik) in a lavvu (traditional herdsmen tent).
