Uncover the highlights of South Korea on our 8-day group tour with fortnightly departures from Seoul. Visit the capital’s Gyeongbokgung Palace and Namdaemun Market, travel to Gyeongju - known as the ‘museum without walls’ due to its abundance of historical buildings - to explore the 8th century UNESCO World Heritage Site of Seokguram Grotto, discover one of the world’s earliest-known existing observatories, enjoy the beautifully scenic coastal drive to Guryongpo Port and take in the sights, sounds and smells of Busan’s Jagalchi Fish Market, where the ajumas (married women) who work at the waterfront stalls sell huge varieties of locally caught fresh and dried seafood.

Arrive in Seoul and transfer to the hotel for two nights. The rest of the day is free to explore at leisure.

The Seoul city tour begins with a visit to Changdeok Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by Gwangjang Market, known for its traditional atmosphere and Korean street food. Next is the National Museum of Korea, showcasing an extensive collection of Korean art and historical relics. The tour continues at COEX Mall, featuring the iconic Byeolmadang Library, and concludes at N Seoul Tower on Mt. Namsan, offering panoramic views of Seoul. (B)

After breakfast and check-out, guests will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the Korean Folk Village, located outside of Seoul. Here, visitors can experience traditional 18th-19th century Korean houses and lifestyles. Next, head to Mt. Songnisan National Park to visit Beopjusa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to the tallest Buddha statue in Korea. The surrounding forest park offers a peaceful setting for a walk. Finally, drive to Daegu via the expressway. (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Daegu Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine, located in the historic Yangnyeongsi Market, which has been a hub for herbal medicine since the 17th century. Explore Seomun Market, one of the three main markets from the Joseon dynasty. Then, transfer to Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Silla kingdom, often called the "Museum without Walls" for its 52 designated historic sites. Enjoy a traditional tea experience at a local café before visiting Cheomseongdae Astronomical Observatory and Royal Tumuli Park, home to royal tombs. Visitors will have the opportunity to enter one of the excavated tombs to learn about the construction and burial processes of royal kings. (B)

After breakfast, begin a full-day tour of Gyeongju with a visit to Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Seokguram Grotto, established in the 8th century on the slopes of Mt. Toham, houses a monumental statue of a sitting Buddha overlooking the sea, regarded as a masterpiece of Buddhist art in the Far East. In the afternoon, explore the Four-Faced Buddha statues at the Gulbulsaji site and the Tomb of King Wonseong (Gwaeneung Royal Tomb). The day concludes with a scenic drive to Guryongpo Port, offering stunning coastal views. (B)

Depart Gyeongju this morning and drive to the Unmoonsa Temple (Buddhist Nun'sTemple). Continue to Busan and enjoy a city tour. Discover all of the main sights including Busan Tower, Jagalchi Fish Market and Nampodong Street. Check into the hotel for an overnight stay. (B)
