Northern lights over Reykjavík - Iceland

Arrive Reykjavík. Transfer and check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Gullfoss waterfall - Iceland

Visit the fascinating Northern Light Centre in Reykjavík before travelling to Þingvellir National Park where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland's largest lake. Journey through the farmlands to the Geysir geothermal fields and view steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and the famous Strokkur geyser, a hot spring that sprouts every few minutes. Travel to Gullfoss, one of the most impressive waterfalls and popular tourist attractions in the country, before stopping to the town of Laugarvatn and visit an unique outdoor geothermal bakery, where Icelandic rye bread is baked in the hot sands. After dark head outside in search of the Northern Lights flickering across the night sky. Overnight stay at your hotel. (B,D*)

*Two-course dinner included

Seljalandsfoss waterfall - Iceland

Explore the region surrounding the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Visit the Lava Centre and learn more about volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland over millions of years. Travel along the south shore to the spectacular waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss and, if trail conditions are right, you might be able to walk behind the ribbon-like Seljalandsfoss falls. Stroll on the volcanic black sands of Reynisfjara beach and see the extraordinary rock formations and thundering waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Check in to the remote countryside hotel in South Iceland for two nights, and at nightfall head outside for another opportunity to search for the aurora borealis. (B, D*)

Northern lights over Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon - Iceland

Discover Vatnajökull National Park, one of Iceland's outstanding areas of natural beauty which is dominated by Europe's largest ice cap. Enjoy breath-taking views of floating icebergs on the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon and discover the 'Diamond beach', where shrinking icebergs settle on the black sands before they drift out to sea. Visit the national park’s famous Skaftafell area and search for the Northern lights at nightfall. Overnight at your hotel. (B,D*)

*Two-course dinner included

Blue Lagoon in Winter - Iceland

Travel to the village of Hveragerði, one of the few sites in the world located directly on top of a geothermal area and home to many greenhouses heated by hot water from nearby springs. Visit a horse farm to meet some local Icelandic horses: also known as the Icelanders’ most faithful friends, this Viking horse breed played a pivotal role in Icelandic history. Continue along the coast to the Reykjanes peninsula to the famous Blue Lagoon, where you can enjoy a relaxing dip. Return to Reykjavík and overnight at your hotel.(B)
