DAY 1

Arrive Reykjavik. Transfer and check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 2
GOLDEN CIRCLE

Visit the fascinating Northern Light Centre in Reykjavik before travelling to Thingvellir National Park where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland's largest lake. Journey through the farmlands to the Geysir geothermal fields and view steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and the famous Strokkur geyser, a hot spring that sprouts every few minutes. Travel to Gullfoss, one of the most impressive waterfalls and popular tourist attractions in the country, before stopping to Skalholt, Iceland’s capital during the Middle-Ages. During the day also visit Laugarvatnshellir cave, where two Icelandic families built a cosy homestead and farm during the early 20th century. After dark head outside in search of the Northern Lights flickering across the night sky. Overnight stay at your hotel. (B,D)

DAY 3

Explore the region surrounding the Eyjafjallajokull volcano. Visit the new Lava Centre to learn more about volcanic activity in Iceland and enjoy a short film about the Laki eruption in 1783-1784. Travel along the south shore to the spectacular waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss and further onwards to Reynisfjara beach to see the extraordinary rock formations and thundering waves of the Atlantic Ocean. At nightfall head outside once more for a chance to see the spectacular Northern Lights. Overnight stay at your hotel. (B,D)

SKAFTAFELL NATIONAL PARK
SKAFTAFELL NATIONAL PARK

Discover Skaftafell National Park, one of Iceland's outstanding areas of natural beauty which is dominated by Europe's largest ice cap, Vatnajokull, and view Svinafellsjökull, one of the most beautiful glacial outlets emerging from this glacier. Enjoy breath-taking views of floating icebergs on the Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon and search for the Northern Lights at nightfall. Overnight stay at your hotel. (B,D)

DAY 5
KIRKJUBAEJARKLAUSTUR TO REYKJAVIK
KIRKJUBAEJARKLAUSTUR TO REYKJAVIK

Travel to the village of Hveragerdi, one of the few sites in the world located directly on top of a geothermal area and home to many greenhouses heated by hot water from nearby springs. Continue along the coast to the Reykjanes peninsula to the famous Blue Lagoon, where you can enjoy a relaxing dip (comfort entrance included). Return to Reykjavik and overnight at your hotel. (B)
