Cavtat is the most southern town in Croatia and just a 45-minute boat ride, or half hour bus ride, away from the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik. The town is a wonderfully restful place to stay, particularly if you would like to visit Dubrovnik but prefer things a little quieter.
Set on a wooded peninsula between 2 harbour bays, this ancient town has a pretty waterfront promenade fringed with palm trees and peppered with restaurants, promenade bars and pebbly beaches.
The town is located in the region of Konavle which is known for its rich cultural heritage. Every Sunday the villagers in the nearby village of Cilipi gather in the main square in traditional costume to sing and dance.
