Geilo is one of the oldest alpine resort villages in Norway, situated about halfway between Oslo and Bergen, and a popular hub in both wither and summer for outdoor enthusiasts.

Skiers will love the easy access to the slopes which are just 5 minutes from the train station, and hikers are spoilt for choice with two national parks within easy reach. To the west is Hallingskarvet National Park, known for its impressively steep cliffs, and the vast and beautiful Hardangervidda National park with its plateau and many lakes is just a short drive to the south.
