Craft Inn Te is located in the historic Yame Fukushima district of Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture, in the heart of Kyushu’s craft region. Opened in 2021, the inn is a renovated late Edo-period merchant residence once owned by the Tsukamoto family. Surrounded by traditional buildings and artisan workshops, it provides direct access to local crafts, including Kurume kasuri textiles, washi paper, bamboo work, pottery, Buddhist altars, and Yame tea.
The property has just two spacious maisonette-style rooms, themed around indigo and bamboo, furnished entirely with pieces made by Kyushu artisans. Rooms feature tatami floors, private bathrooms, air conditioning, dining tables, and free WiFi. Facilities include a tranquil garden and a cedar barrel bath crafted by a local cooper. Breakfast is served in-room using seasonal local produce and traditional wooden tableware. Craft experiences and guided artisan visits can be arranged during your stay.
