Yamamotoya is a 350-year-old traditional ryokan located on the willow-lined banks of the Otani River in the centre of Kinosaki Onsen, Japan. The inn is within walking distance of seven public hot spring baths and 600 metres from JR Kinosaki Onsen Station, with a free shuttle bus available. The three-storey wooden building retains a classic design reflecting the town’s post-1925 earthquake reconstruction and Edo-period heritage.
The ryokan offers 15 Japanese-style guest rooms with tatami floors, futon bedding, air-conditioning, and private or shared bathrooms, many with river views. Hot spring facilities include a men’s bath, a ladies’ bath, and a private open-air bath for exclusive use. Guests can enjoy full-course meals made from locally sourced Tajima ingredients, an on-site craft beer brewery, and yukata robe rental for exploring the town.
