The route moves at a measured, unhurried pace with ample time for birdwatching, snorkelling and relaxed boat excursions, making it ideal for guests seeking immersive nature experiences without constant transit.

Palawan hornbill

Explore the natural beauty of Irawan Eco Park, a peaceful haven just minutes from Puerto Princesa. UNDERGROUND RIVER, MANGROVES AND FIREFLIES
Underground River

Start the day with a trip to the UNESCO-listed Puerto Princesa Underground River. Travel in small paddleboats through enormous limestone caverns, where stalactites, stalagmites, and towering columns create dramatic, cathedral-like spaces. This river stretches over eight kilometres beneath limestone cliffs, offering a rare chance to experience Palawan’s geological wonders up close. After returning to the resort for lunch, explore an old-growth mangrove forest where century-old trees provide habitat for monitor lizards, mangrove snakes, and a variety of bird species. Guides share insights into the crucial role mangroves play in sustaining both land and marine ecosystems.

OLANGO BIRD WATCHING
Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary

Travel by local outrigger boat to Santa Rosa Wharf, the gateway to Olango Island just off eastern Mactan. Explore the island by tricycle before arriving at the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary, home to one of the largest concentrations of migratory birds in the Philippines. Walk along the tidal flats and observe thousands of birds feeding and resting, including species such as the common redshank, black-winged stilt, Chinese egret, and sandpipers. This is a rare chance to connect with nature and witness the diversity of the Philippines’ coastal birdlife up close. MANTAYUPAN FALLS AND SARDINE RUN
Sardine run

Visit Mantayupan Falls near Barili, the tallest waterfall in Cebu at 98 metres, set amid dense tropical greenery. The cascading water and surrounding forest offer a peaceful spot to enjoy nature and take in dramatic scenery. Continue to Moalboal, a small coastal town famous for its sardine run. Snorkel in clear waters alongside millions of sardines and encounter reef fish such as sweetlips, tangs, gobies, and lionfish. TARSIERS, CHOCOLATE HILLS AND LOBOC RIVER
Tarsier

Start the day at the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary in Corella to see the world’s smallest primates in their natural habitat. Watch these tiny, nocturnal creatures leap between branches and rotate their heads almost 360 degrees, a rare wildlife encounter. Continue to Baclayon for a short stop at the Blood Compact site, a historic landmark marking the friendship between Spanish explorer Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and local chieftain Datu Sikatuna.

 

Explore Baclayon Church, one of the oldest stone churches in the Philippines, housing centuries of religious art and artifacts. Pamilacan Island

Spend the day on Pamilacan Island, known for its clear waters, white-sand beaches, and rich marine life. TWIN LAKES BIRD WATCHING

Head to the Twin Lakes of Balinsasayao and Danao, a serene mountain setting 330 metres above sea level. This area is home to over 300 bird species, including the Philippine bulbul, Negros flowerpecker, and metallic-winged sunbird. Choose between an easy walk near the viewing deck, where birdlife is abundant, or a longer hike with the option of a boat ride to explore further.
