This five-day experience combines Moldova’s exceptional wine heritage with hands-on culinary traditions, rural landscapes and time to relax in the capital, Chisinau. FLY TO MOLDOVA
Chisinau, Moldova

Arrive Chisinau, take a private transfer to your hotel for check-in. Spend the evening exploring the city’s lively bars and restaurants.

DAY 2
ORHEIUL VECHI, VILLAGE COOKING & CRICOVA WINE CELLARS
Moldovan food

This morning, travel into the Moldovan countryside to Orheiul Vechi, a spectacular cultural and natural landscape carved by the River Raut. Explore ancient ruins and cave monasteries set high above the valley, and learn about the region’s medieval trading past. The site is currently on UNESCO’s Tentative List.
Continue to the village of Trebujeni, where you’ll take part in a hands-on cooking masterclass at a local guesthouse. Learn how to prepare traditional Moldovan dishes such as placinte (filled pastries) and local desserts, followed by time for lunch.
In the afternoon, descend into the legendary Cricova Wine Cellars, one of the world’s largest underground wine complexes. Travel through vast limestone tunnels named after grape varieties, admire historic collections and enjoy a guided tasting of four wine. Return to Chisinau. (B,L)

CHISINAU
National History Museum, Chisinau

Today is free to enjoy Chisinau at your own pace. Stroll through the city’s leafy parks and wide boulevards, or explore its mix of Soviet-era architecture, Orthodox churches and elegant 19th-century buildings.
You may wish to visit the National Museum of History of Moldova, browse fresh produce and local delicacies at Central Market, or relax with a coffee and pastry in one of the city’s many cafés. Wine lovers can opt to spend the afternoon in a wine bar sampling indigenous Moldovan varieties, while those keen on culture can explore art galleries or take in a performance at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Alternatively, simply enjoy a leisurely lunch and soak up the city’s relaxed atmosphere before an evening out at one of Chisinau’s excellent restaurants. (B)

WINE TASTING AT CASTLE MIMI
Castle Mimi,

Discover Castle Mimi, one of Moldova’s most prestigious wine estates and among the world’s most beautiful wine castles. Founded in the late 19th century, the château combines elegant architecture with a long winemaking tradition and has become a symbol of modern Moldovan wine culture.
Enjoy a guided visit through the historic cellars, wine production areas and beautifully landscaped gardens, including the château interiors and courtyard. The visit concludes with a wine tasting of five Castle Mimi wines, accompanied by small snacks, offering a relaxed introduction to the estate’s distinctive styles and indigenous grape varieties. For those wishing to delve deeper, an optional wine blending experience is available for groups, allowing you to create and bottle your own personalised cuvée.
