In the north of Jordan lies the Ajloun Forest Reserve, one of the protected areas of Jordan’s countryside. The forest is home to a variety of trees but plenty of oak, pistachio and wild strawberry can be found here along with many flowers and shrubs, many of which have been used by the local people over the centuries for food and medicines. Trails cross the reserve leading hikers to local villages and through the rolling hills to viewpoints and religious sites. The local community work with Wild Jordan providing meals in their homes and working at the cabins and the soaphouse.
