Comprising the significant portion of the island of Borneo (the top part being Malaysian territory), which is itself the world’s third largest island, Kalimantan is swathed in native jungle and thriving with indigenous wildlife. Most people visit the island to explore Tanjung Puting National Park which is the most accessible way to explore a relatively small portion of this wild territory. Board a local klotok riverboat and cruise the Sekonyer River to discover Camp Leakey, world famous orangutan rehabilitation centre and home to many rescued primates.
