Muscat, the capital of Oman, is a city situated between the sea and a mountain range. It has a unique charm with its white-washed architecture and the beautiful Mutrah Corniche that runs along the waterfront, setting it apart from its neighbouring countries. Two buildings that stand out in Muscat are the Royal Opera House and the Grand Mosque, both built in the modern Islamic architecture style and certainly worth a visit. The city is more traditional and conservative than other Arab countries, and visitors are expected to dress modestly by covering their shoulders, arms, and legs while in public.
