Tour Itinerary
Fly to Tromsø and check in to the Radisson Blu Tromsø for three nights. Offering views of the majestic mountains and the waterfront, the Radisson provides the ideal base for arctic adventure. Perhaps enjoy a Mack beer at the hotel’s Rorbua Pub.
Spend the day exploring Tromsø at leisure, perhaps visiting the Art Museum of Northern Norway or the Arctic Cathedral. After dark embark on an aurora adventure and head into the wilderness to search for the northern lights with a local guide. Aurora sightings at this remote location are as high as 93%. (B,D)
Make use of a free day to take part in optional winter activities. Opt to join a husky safari through the Norwegian wilderness, or to marvel at glittering scenery whilst being pulled across snowy fields on a reindeer sled. Fly to Svalbard Airport and transfer to Longyearbyen, the world’s most northerly community and check in to the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel for four nights. The rest of the day is free. Why not relax in the hotel’s sauna and outdoor jacuzzi, enjoy delicious food in front of a roaring fire or head outside to search for the aurora borealis. (B)
Mushing a team of dogs under the starry sky of the polar night is a unique and special experience. Embark on an exhilarating husky sledding adventure beneath the glittering moonlight, travelling across icy plains and past towering mountains. Keep an eye out for the incredible northern lights which can be seen day or night at this magical time of year. (B)
Head out into the polar night on an electric snowmobile safari through the wilderness. The new electric sleds drive silently and without any harmful emissions, greatly increasing the odds of spotting some of the local wildlife. Keep an eye out for the local reindeer and polar foxes who call this arctic tundra home and don't forget to watch overhead for the northern lights. (B)
Take an exciting trip by snowcat and hunt for the aurora borealis in the Spitsbergen wilderness. Drive through the frozen Advent Valley and enjoy incredible views back towards the glittering lights of Longyearbyen. (B)
