Spend the day discovering this compact and charming city. Why not begin at the majestic Uppsala Cathedral, Scandinavia's largest. Wander to Uppsala Castle for sweeping city views. We recommend a visit to the Botanical Garden and Linnaeus Garden to discover Sweden's scientific heritage. When lunchtime rolls around, why not choose one of the many restaurants that offer ' dagens lunch', a daily special with salad, bread and a coffee. If you prefer something lighter, embrace Fika, Sweden's coffee and cake ritual. Head to Güntherska Hovkonditori, Ofvandahls, or Café Linné Hörnan for coffee, sandwiches, and pastries like cinnamon buns or princess cake.(B)

We recommend taking the short train journey to Stockholm for the day. Explore Stockholm by using your Stockholm City Pass. This includes both the hop-on-hop-off Stockholm city sightseeing bus and boat so you can easily get your bearings and explore the archipelago. Why not consider a visit to one (or several) of the cities excellent museums, galleries or attractions. Your Stockholm City Pass provides you with free entry into over 60 attractions.. We highly recommend visiting the Fotografiska museum, the Royal Palace and the incredible Vasa Museum as well as the ABBA Museum ( not included in City pass) or, head to the top of Skyview to see the city from a unique perspective or enjoy the immersive exhibits at the Viking Museum. Take the train back to Uppsala .(B)

Head to the Museum Gustavianum, one of Uppsala's most fascinating museums and a must-visit for anyone interested in history, science and culture. It's part of Uppsala Museum, one of Scandinavia's oldest universities and is housed in a beautiful 17th-century building that was once the main hall. (B)
