Pulau Gaya is a sizeable Malaysian island just 10 minutes off Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and is the largest island in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. It is covered with dense virgin rainforest and has a host of hiking trails to explore as well as good snorkelling in the surrounding bays.
It now also houses 3 good quality resorts Gaya Island Resort, Bunga Raya Resort and Gayana Eco Resort which is home to the Marine Ecology Research Centre, an education centre working to address the increasing threats on native marine life. Gaya Island is a lovely place to spend a few days' relaxing on any Borneo holiday.
