Guadalcanal is the largest island in the Solomon Islands. It is possibly most famous for its role in WWII with the Battle of Guadalcanal which was a turning point for the Allied movement. However the island also offers the chance for further exploration with white sand beaches, tropical rainforests and scenic waterfalls. There are also an abundance of wreck dives to be discovered off the coast. Guadalcanal is also an excellent jumping off point for further exploration of other islands in the group.
