Arrive at Longyearbyen airport and transfer to the hotel, check in for 4 nights.
After breakfast, embark on a dog sledding adventure and feel the thrill of riding through the Arctic wilderness pulled along by a pack of husky dogs. Following the riverbed as it meanders back and forth into Bolterdalen with mountainous ranges surrounding the area, this half day trip offers awe inspiring scenery and adventure. Keep an eye out for wild reindeer, Svalbard grouse and polar foxes. (B)
Ride in a gigantic snowcat out of town on up onto the Longyear Glacier where the guide will lead you along the meltwater channels into the heart of the glacier. See awe inspiring crystal formations within the frozen walls while exploring the meandering chasm and glittering cave.
This evening, leave the village lights behind on a visit Camp Barentz in the Advent Valley. Indulge in a few drinks and a hearty dinner cooked over an open fire while the camp hosts keep you entertained with tales about the area. (B,D)
