The Secret Lagoon quietly opened to visitors in 2014 over a century after it was originally built.
Located in the tiny town of Fluðir in the country’s Golden Circle area, the warm waters of this lesser-known attraction provide an alternative geothermal experience with smaller crowds.
A natural hot spring supplies the lagoon with 38-40°C water at a rate of 10 litres per second and steam rises from countless hotspots. Lockers and towels can be rented, and changing rooms, showers and a small café serving beer, wine and soft drinks are on offer.
Enjoy this relaxing open-air bathing experience and search for the northern lights on your way back to Reykjavik
