Experience a remarkable Solar Eclipse occurring on August 12th, 2026, passing over the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic Ocean, and northern Spain. Embark on this once-in-a-lifetime arctic voyage aboard the M/S Sea Spirit, and navigate iceberg-packed fjords under the endless summer sky as you journey from Svalbard to Greenland and then on to Iceland. Explore the pristine, untouched wilderness on land and anticipate thrilling wildlife sightings, including whales, seals, and iconic polar bears, all expertly sought out by your captain and expedition leader. The journey is further enriched by astrophysicist Paul Sutter joining the expedition.
Please note that itinerary, landings and all other activities during the cruise depend strongly on ice and weather conditions and are subject to the decisions of the Expedition Leader and the Captain of the vessel. Encounters with any mentioned wildlife cannot be guaranteed.
Arrive in Longyearbyen, the administrative capital of the Spitsbergen archipelago, and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Perhaps visit the Svalbard Museum or take advantage of quality shopping and dining opportunities in the town centre.
In the afternoon, embark on the M/V Sea Spirit and start your Arctic cruise. Explore the ship and get comfortable as you sail through Isfjorden where there is already the possibility of marine mammal encounters. (D)
Spend the next three days discovering the frozen landscapes of the northwestern part of the island of Spitsbergen - the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago. Scattered with islets, fjords and beaches, this area contains the archipelago’s most impressive scenery and Arctic wildlife, such as reindeer, Arctic foxes and Polar Bears. Also in this area is Ny Ålesund, a former mining town that is now home to an international community of Arctic researchers, complete with museum, gift shop, and post office. This was also a staging area for historic attempts to discover the North Pole. (B,L,D)

Providing spacious suites for accommodation of maximum of 114 passengers (the smallest suite is 20 sq. meters) the Sea Spirit at the same time features maneuverability and friendly atmosphere of small ships. All suites have private facilities and exterior views. Some of the suites feature private balconies for enjoying fantastic landscapes of the Arctic.
