Spitsbergen Holidays

Covering an area similar to the size of Ireland, this island set in the Arctic Ocean is a hidden snow covered gem. Located halfway between Tromso and the North Pole within Svalbard's archipelago, Spitsbergen holidays offer a unique experience. During the summer, witness the midnight sun above rugged mountains, vast ice fields, mighty glaciers and the spectacular coastline that overlooks endless icefjords. During the first part of the winter, the sun sits six degrees below the horizon, offering all-day darkness and a very good chance of seeing the northern lights. As winter blends into spring, the days begin to get longer and through the thawing snow flowers appear, offering a magnificent landscape where reindeer, polar foxes and even polar bears roam freely.

Snowmobiling
This exhilarating trip through the vast wilderness is an exciting experience in both summer and winter. During Polar nights, witness the Aurora Borealis in the sky above and during the summer let the midnight sun light the way to glaciers, ice fields and fjords.

Ice Caving
Walk below a Glacier through blue ice caves, where frozen tunnels open up to an underground world. With a guide, hear how Glaciers are formed and be lead through the crystal caves below during this unique experience.

Sail to Pyramiden
Sail to the deserted town of Pyramiden, a Russian mining community that was abandoned in 1998. Walk through empty streets and witness Russian Soviet era buildings still perfectly intact, as well as the sound of silence. During the summer months, sail past Polar Bears on ice and watch them fish (from a safe distance!)
