Designed with couples in mind, this short break based at the boutique Arctic Light Hotel in central Rovaniemi discovers the picturesque arctic landscapes with exhilarating day and evening excursions. By day, dash through the snowy trails on a sleigh pulled by huskies and snowshoe to serene forest spots, and in the evenings, head out into the Lappish wilderness that surrounds Rovaniemi to seek out the dancing northern lights.
Fly to the capital of Finnish Lapland and transfer to the boutique Arctic Light Hotel for a three night stay in a magic room. In the afternoon explore Rovaniemi, perhaps visit the Arktikum, a fascinating museum depicting life in the Arctic Circle. In the evening, perhaps try out one of the local restaurants in Rovaniemi for a traditional dinner. Talk to a Regent Specialist about upgrading to a polar room with your own private sauna.
In the afternoon, embark on an exhilarating snowmobile safari adventure into the Lappish nature. Master the art of driving a snowmobile and stop in the snowy surroundings to enjoy hot drinks and biscuits. Back at your hotel perhaps spend some time exploring the town of Rovaniemi or simply relax in the hotel. In the evening, head back out by snowmobile into the surrounding nature in search of the northern lights, away from any light pollution. Your guide will drive through snowy landscapes to seek out the perfect spot to watch them. Enjoy a tasty Lappish picnic as the skies hopefully paint shades of green above you. (B,D)
After breakfast, head out into the Lappish wilderness on a two-hour husky sleigh safari. Wrap up warm to dash through snowy trails (the duration is about one hour duration), watching the Arctic nature rush by between stopping for breaks to soak in the views and take photos. In the afternoon sit comfortably in a sleigh and take photos of the Arctic landscape around you before enjoying a coffee and cinnamon bun around a campfire. (B)
Free day to relax and explore the town of Rovaniemi or book optional excursions, before heading out in the evening for a truly unique Arctic experience. Suit up into a warm rescue suit and dip into an ice hole in a frozen lake to float under the winter night skies. The suit protects you from the cold and you wear your own clothes underneath the suit so you keep warn even in the zero degree water - relax in the water, under hopefully the aurora borealis. (B)
