Flying directly to Kuala Lumpur, enjoy a three-night stay and explore this vibrant city. Tour the bustling markets of Chinatown, climb the Petronas Twin Towers for a panoramic view of the city and marvel at the ancient Batu Caves.

To wind down, head to beautiful Gaya Island Resort and enjoy a stunning beachside location where warm turquoise waters entice. Snorkel or dive with the resort's PADI certified dive instructor, experience the wildlife of the rainforest with the resort's resident naturalist and look out for the groups of proboscis monkeys which live on the island. Pamper yourself in the resort Spa, take a boat trip to a private beach or simply relax by the glistening aquamarine pool where staff will wait on you with beverages and snacks. Morning at leisure.

 

This afternoon enjoy a half-day city tour. Explore colourful rural and urban lifestyles, eclectic designs and a touch of nature, along with fine traditional arts and crafts.Visit Kuala Lumpur Tower, one of the tallest freestanding towers in the world, and get a magnificent view of the lush Klang Valley that surrounds the city. Continue to the Royal Museum, which until 2011 was the residence of Malaysia's king and take a drive through Chinatown, in the oldest part of the city. Visit the Jamek Mosque, the oldest mosque in the city, and see the site where the Malaysian flag was first raised after independence was declared. The area around the square boasts unique colonial-era landmarks, such as the Sultan Abdul Samad building, the Royal Selangor Club and St Mary's Cathedral.Explore Embassy Row to see the residences of ambassadors and highly desirable private properties such as the Sharif Ali Palace. Finally, admire the face of modern Kuala Lumpur with a stop in the city centre, set off by the stainless steel and glass skyscrapers of the Petronas Twin Towers. (B)

Discover the cultural carnival of KL through delectable dishes as you eat your way across the city lon this small-group tour. Visit lively districts and taste a variety of mouth-watering dishes as your guide leads you on a gastronomic adventure far from the beaten tourist track. Jump into the tour with a bang at Brickfield's, an Indian-influenced community where a chaotic rainbow of bright colours and pulsing, loud music set the scene. Try a sugary banana fritter, cardamom-soaked gulab jamun or invigorate with a refreshing cendol, a local delicacy of shaved ice, palm sugar, red beans and coconut milk jelly.
Hop on the LRT and zip across town to Chinatown. Finally, grab a seat in a traditional coffee house, where your guide will walk you through Kuala Lumpur, past and present, with the help of old photographs. Before you leave, make sure to pick up a recommendation or two for the best eateries to go to during the rest of your time in town.(B)
